Welding Torch
I thought I take the time to talk about this really cool
portable welding torch that has served me well over the years.
Also, another reason I created this page is due to the number
of people out there who are buying micro torches because they
figured that those things would also work for welding stuff.
Truth is those handheld torches aren’t made for welding.
Instead, you should opt for a full-blown cutting and welding
torch like this portable one right here.

What you’re viewing here is a genuine Victor 0384-0936
portable cutting and welding torch. Weighing approximately 35
pounds, this torch feels relatively light to me. I’m comparing
it to my previous welding/cutting torches which were bulky and
a lot heavier than this one. You can get this baby running
using any fuel gas. It comes with a sturdy carrying case along
with gauges that are color-coded for easy differentiation. W-1
size 1 welding tip is included which allows you to weld up to
5/64"/1.9mm.
Cutting attachment that enables precise cutting for up to
1/2" / 12mm. Empty oxygen and acetylene cylinder, regulators,
Victor torch handle with flashback arrestors built in, etc. All
in all, this high-quality portable welding torch will help you
complete all your cutting and welding “gigs” as quickly as
possible because the thing is so darn effective! Just use the

Micro Welding Torch
The above portable torch is undeniably top-class; it’s a
genuine Victor torch after all, so expect nothing less but
quality. Now the cost however, is a little on the prohibitive
side for many people out there. The thing is a beauty no doubt,
but you would have to splash around 300+ bucks for the entire
set! So what’s the next best thing for welding commercially
weldable metals? Micro torch?
Nope!
As I’ve indicated many times on this site, those things are
extremely useful and effective, but they falter in the welding
department. Butane micro
torches generally produce flame temperature of 2500 F,
tops. So the next best thing is to get a set of “micro welding
torch” like in this photo here.

The Smith Little Torch Soldering Welding has the ability to
generate a thread-thin flame that goes up to 6300 degrees
Fahrenheit. The photo above makes it look as if the torch is
big and might be difficult to handle but believe me, that is
not the case at all. This baby weighs only 2 pounds okay, so it
truly is a “micro” welding torch.
In terms of performance, it’s pretty much a winner
especially when you consider its size. Smith’s micro welding
torch is capable of fusing materials as thin as .001" up to 16
gauge, therefore you’d have no problem welding a lot of
weldable metal out there. You can use it for soldering,
brazing, melt glass for making crafts and so on. It’s a great
tool to have and won’t cost you an arm and a leg. The whole set
will cost you around 140 dollars or so and I think a free
shipping offer is also available for it. I’m not 100% sure so
you better use the link below to see if the free shipping is
still on.
